I just had to share this amazing deal that starts today! The Food Warehouse (Iceland’s giant warehouse supermarkets) are giving away the components of a Christmas dinner over the next 6 weeks.
How does it work?
Is it worth it?
I don’t know about everyone else but, between our fortnightly ‘big shops’ at Tesco, our mid-week top ups at Aldi and our in-between treat runs from Sainsbury’s, we easily spend well in excess of £120 a month on our shopping. We’ve decided to switch over to Iceland entirely for the full 6 weeks (I’ll probably Insta story some updates) and see if we can save some money too. If you spend slightly less than than this, I’d still say it might be worth it if you use the extra couple of pounds to buy frozen food that will last months and save you money in the long run. As with all deals, if you don’t spend anywhere near £30 per week on your food shop, then this one might not be for you.
As there’s only two of us eating Christmas dinner at our house, buying a full joint of meat and all the trimmings feels like throwing money away. We’d be spending the same as our regular shop and getting a free Christmas dinner. No brainer. If you’re a larger family, or have a lot of mouths to feed on Christmas, you’d still save a pretty penny even if it didn’t cover everything you need to buy.
Also, every time you swipe your Bonus Card, you’re entered into a draw to win 10% off your next shop or a £100 voucher for The Food Warehouse to be spent at Christmas. For us, the offer was worth it without this, but it’s a great little extra.
Controversial opinion time. Get ready to unfollow me on everything. It’s missing Yorkshire puddings. Soz. Actually, not soz. If you disagree, you’re wrong.
I hope this helps you save a few pennies in the run up to Christmas. Let me know in the comments if you use this offer!
